- ➤ Delta College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today for its $7 million computer science wing renovation that expands a 16,000 sqft facility by over 4,000 sqft with new state-of-the-art labs (approved by the National Security Agency and Homeland Security) and will serve over 1,800 students next semester. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan officials announced that Bay City, Flint, Saginaw, and mid-Michigan counties such as Arenac, Iosco, Ogemaw, Oscoda & Roscommon are exempt from federal work requirements for SNAP benefits, so residents will continue to receive assistance without meeting work, training or volunteer hours. - ➤ City officials are considering new park rules for Battery Park after several safety complaints last summer, which include an alcohol ban and e-bike motor limits. Some officials fear the updates might affect unhoused people — though they stress the changes aim solely to improve public safety. MLive
