- ➤ McLaren Bay Region started building a $53.6M hospital campus off Midland Road in Bay City on Oct. 22—this new campus will include a center for bone care and a separate emergency room with first patients expected in spring. Bay City officials also asked state lawmakers to limit kratom sales to those over 21, and Bay Valley Resort opened its new Heatherfields restaurant as part of a multi-million-dollar property upgrade. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kochville Township's Downtown Development Authority bought the former Quality Inn on Tittabawassee Road this summer using a $1.9 million investment from a 10-year bond to redevelop the three-acre site. The property is fenced off and utilities are being disconnected and will be demolished by the end of the year—clearing the way for future commercial use. MLive
