  • WNEM-TV5 compiled trick-or-treat times for mid-Michigan for Halloween, and the list shows Bay City will not have any designated hours while other communities list times from about 5 to 8 p.m. Officials urge families to follow safety tips—wear bright clothing, stay with an adult, and plan well-lit routes for safety.  WNEM

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bay City's Edson Incident is set to run on the USS Edson Naval Ship along the Saginaw River and will feature jump-scares, themed rooms, and live actors to help fund the historic ship — the top-rated haunt for three consecutive years by MichiganHauntedHouses.com. Visitors can expect spooky decor and thrills as Halloween nears.  ABC12

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Michigan Department of Education today released a guidebook to help schools address rising youth mental health issues, noting that one in six students faces challenges and only 20% receive care. The guidebook—developed by over 50 experts—offers step-by-step support and classroom lessons, and its use remains optional for local school districts.  Mid Michigan NOW

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Hunters must have a fur harvester license and pick up free bobcat kill tags by Oct. 31—trapping begins Nov. 1 and hunting seasons start Jan. 1.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Motorists in Bay County should expect lane closures on westbound US-10 from 7 Mile Road to 9 Mile Road near Auburn starting Sunday, Oct. 26th until Wednesday, Oct. 29th as MDOT begins concrete patching repairs. The project will use single-lane closures — a plan to improve road safety for drivers.  MLive
