- ➤ Frankenmuth’s Bavarian Blast Waterpark will offer winter season passes from early January to mid-March that allow visitors to enjoy 16 waterslides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and a swim-up bar indoors. - ➤ The West Bay County Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant completed a $2M upgrade in September that replaced its chlorine gas system with a safer UV disinfection system aimed at cutting risks and costs—this change was driven by rising chlorine prices and potential leak hazards. The new system can treat up to 32 million gallons per day while the plant processes an average of 6.3 million gallons daily—said Ryan Goebel, Director of the Bay County Department of Water and Sewer. - ➤ The Michigan DNR is offering up to $1.5 million in Fisheries Habitat Grants for projects to protect fish habitats and remove dams for local, state, tribal governments and nonprofits; preproposals must be submitted online by November 19 with responses by December 12 — final funding decisions will be announced by May 2026 — and applicants must first consult with a DNR fisheries biologist.
