ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Michigan gas prices reached their lowest level since April 2021 until a fire at the BP refinery in Whiting pushed up prices in parts of Mid-Michigan—GasBuddy said the wholesale price increased by 25 cents per gallon. Analysts expect prices to drop gradually to between $2.40 and $2.80 per gallon over the next one or two weeks if no further issues occur. WNEM
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Midland, Saginaw, and Bay City fire departments have been awarded $1.3 million in federal funds to replace 120 self-contained breathing apparatus units, officials said. The new equipment will be in service by summer 2026. MLive
- ➤ Kochville Township sealed a deal by buying the former Quality Inn on Tittabawassee Road for $1.6 million near I-675 and provided updates on new business developments. The township said Raising Cane's will begin the permit process in spring while Dairy Queen and Gerber Collision Center move forward with their plans. WNEM

- ➤ At Ferris State, Hemlock freshman Maylin Buckley led the local girls golf meet by finishing 17th with a total score of 189, while junior qualifier Gabi Thiel finished 27th with a total score of 195—both representing the Saginaw-area contingent.
