  • A local pub—Governor's Quarters on S. Wenona Ave—closed after an SUV crashed through its wall last Friday, causing serious damage, sending the driver to the hospital, while the business thanked first responders and investigators are looking into the crash.  Mid Michigan NOW

CRIME NEWS

  • A Bay City woman pleaded guilty on Aug 13 in Bay County Circuit Court to charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, fourth-degree child abuse and driving while license suspended after she attempted to drive over a pregnant victim at a baseball field—she may avoid a criminal record under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials in Bay City waived the $200 trash bin fines after residents complained and are reviewing the policy—Mayor Chris Girard said future penalties will begin with a warning notice.  MLive

  • Boston Streng-Beougher ran for 277 yards—helping the Vikings defeat Croswell-Lexington 55-35 and end a three-game losing streak on Thursday night.  MLive
