- ➤ Chick-fil-A announced it will open its third Mid-Michigan restaurant near the former Kmart at Euclid Avenue and Wilder Road in Bangor Township in early 2026 — construction will begin soon and the site is expected to create 80 to 120 jobs once it opens. ABC12
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Former director of Bay City State Theatre, Mike Bacigalupo, was charged with wire fraud—he is accused of using false promises to try to get money from the theatre, the Historical Museum of Bay County, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation after an FBI investigation filed a complaint on Aug. 25. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Michigan Department of Transportation is spending $3.9 million to rebuild the Bay City Rest Area on southbound I-75 and will close the facility from Sept 2 until May for utility work, ramp grades, and site work—this project aims to provide safer travel along the corridor. WNEM
- ➤ The Michigan Department of Transportation will remove lane restrictions for 100 of 164 road projects statewide to ease travel delays for holiday drivers starting at 3 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
