- ➤ Bay City man Brayden Milkowski had his e-bike stolen outside Jack’s Fruit and Meat Market—he relies on the bike because he cannot drive—and now must walk or take the bus while Public Safety investigates and a GoFundMe helps fund a replacement. Mid Michigan NOW

- ➤ More than 25 waterspouts were seen over the Great Lakes on Saturday and Sunday and are expected to persist today—boaters and swimmers should move away from their paths for safety. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Bay City Commission appointed Mark T. Zanotti as the new 5th Ward commissioner on Aug. 25 after interviewing six candidates—he will serve through December 2026. He brings school board and board review experience and has lived in the ward for 45 years—earning unanimous support with a 5—0 vote. MLive
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials urge local parents to update their children's vaccines as measles, mumps, and whooping cough cases rise statewide—Michigan now requires kindergarteners, seventh graders, and new district entrants to be fully vaccinated. Some families may obtain waivers after being briefed on the risks and benefits, with past data showing about 6.2% of students had waivers. MLive
