Good morning, Bay City.

Township officials confirmed that Chick-fil-A will replace the demolished Kmart building at the intersection of Euclid Ave and Wilder Rd in Bangor Township with construction set to begin in April 2026—this new restaurant is expected to create 80—120 jobs and be Bay County’s first Chick-fil-A. Planning commission officials also noted that a new deceleration lane will be added to meet county entrance requirements.

Bay City began charging residents a $200 fine for leaving trash bins out after pickup day, with city workers inspecting neighborhoods—officials warn that repeated violations will lead to higher fines while some residents say the penalty is too high.
