- ➤ Local officials in Bay County handled several major issues as a Bay City mother faced felony charges in a $21,337 Bridge Card fraud case and a Bay City man was charged with sexually assaulting underage girls and refusing a DNA test, while a lawsuit accused Gov. Whitmer of not calling a special election for the 35th District and a city commissioner may face censure for overstepping her authority. Other updates include delays to I-75 bridge work set to resume today, the demolition of a historic Essexville home, a chocolate shop that will close on Aug. 22 and a school bond proposal postponed until 2026.
