- ➤ On Aug. 3, residents protested Bay City Bridge Partners—demanding toll changes—and police investigated a South End shooting on Aug. 4 that injured a 26-year-old man in a 5-4 vote to postpone a ban on no-knock warrants. Earlier, a judge admonished Ashlie K. House for embezzlement from Auburn’s DPW while county officials approved bond financing for a new community pool and set a mural festival for Aug. 21 to 25.
