- ➤ Earlier this week, librarian Linda Smith from the Bay County Library System noticed a mother duck and eleven ducklings outside her library and guided them three blocks toward the Saginaw River where they safely entered the water. Traffic briefly stopped for the duck family as her colleague Kristin Freeman documented the rescue—showing a caring effort in busy downtown Bay City. MLive
