- ➤ The Sixth Circuit upheld Michigan's Newborn Screening Program and BioTrust for Health, ruling that collecting de-identified blood samples from newborns to test for more than 50 disorders is constitutional. The decision overturned a lower court order to destroy the stored samples in the Michigan Neonatal Biobank—where samples are kept for 100 years—and affirmed the program's role in supporting research, quality testing, and medical identification.
