  • Today, dozens of Michigan veterans will fly to Washington D.C. for the mid-Michigan Honor Flight’s 22nd mission. Local veterans, including a Vietnam veteran and a 92-year-old Korean War veteran, are eager to reconnect with comrades (TV5 will follow their journey).  WNEM
  • Yesterday, Bay City held a public hearing at city hall at 5:30 p.m. on its proposed 2025-2026 budget and property tax millage rates—and ash trees in the area were treated for emerald ash borer damage. In other news, experts warned gas prices could rise over 30 cents a gallon by July 4 due to oil infrastructure damage, the G7 Summit started in Canada, and Great Lakes Bay Pride teamed with Young Fitness for a 45-minute workout fundraiser in Midland at 5:30 p.m.  WNEM
  • Organizers for Bay City and Saginaw say community support is crucial for Independence Day fireworks shows — Saginaw plans to raise $70,000 in 19 days while Bay City counts on repeat sponsors and local spending — and both groups will secure funds for this year's event and a special celebration in 2026 honoring America's 250th anniversary.  WNEM

  • A parolee admitted in court to robbing Sunrise Family Credit Union in Hampton Township for nearly $8,000—he threatened to shoot everyone and now faces a lengthy prison term.  MLive

  • Bay City Boat Lines will offer free narrated history tours on the Princess Wenonah this July—departing from Wenonah Park Monday through Thursday over four weeks with two-hour cruises sharing the area’s maritime heritage.  MLive

  • Five years after May 2020 dam failures caused severe floods that forced thousands to evacuate, more than 770 residents signed a letter asking Gov. Whitmer to acknowledge the state's role + offer needed support. Homeowners lost their homes + their retirement savings, and local business owners faced over $1M in damages while many still wait for state help.  MLive
