- ➤ Paul Davis Restoration and the American Red Cross will launch the third annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive Series in Bay County on May 28 at noon with a kickoff presentation at Monitor Township Fire Department — Becky Gaskin, Joe Baker, and Terry Spencer will lead the event. Nearby fire departments will host six-hour blood drives during summer and early fall. MLive
- ➤ Michigan health officials warned residents to avoid contact with foam on local waters as summer activities begin. They said that while foam can form naturally, it may trap harmful chemicals and bacteria, so rinsing off after water activities is recommended. Mid Michigan NOW

- ➤ Bay City area high school softball tournaments announced pairings and schedules for divisional games ranging from today to Saturday, May 30—winners advance to regionals in Mount Pleasant, Essexville, Sault Ste. Marie, Bad Axe, New Lothrop, Unionville-Sebewaing and East Jordan. MLive
- ➤ Bay City area high school baseball district pairings for tournaments are set with games scheduled from May 22 to May 30 — championship winners will advance to regional semifinals. Updated scores are posted as matches finish. MLive
- ➤ Bay City Central earned a 15-0 win over Saginaw United in the Division 2 district quarterfinal on May 11, moving to the semifinals at John Glenn on Saturday at 10 a.m., while Standish-Sterling won the Petoskey Invitational and Bay City Western lost in the Flint Tournament. MLive
