Michigan education advocates are reviewing a ballot proposal that would add a 5% surcharge on high incomes—those earning over $500K or couples earning over $1M—to raise funds for K-12 schools.
They plan to train signature collectors and submit the proposal language next month so the measure could appear on a November ballot.

SVSU’s softball season ended Friday when Pace University won 2-1 in extra innings at the NCAA Division II World Series.
The Cardinals scored early but lost the game when Pace’s run in the 10th inning ended their season.
