- ➤ Michigan Community Services is hosting the Cornerstone Spring Craft Show in Bay City where residents can enjoy a spring event featuring handmade crafts — details about schedule and location will be provided soon. ABC12
- ➤ Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteer house leaders to guide Neighborhood Revitalization paint projects in Buena Vista Township from June 9-13 and June 16-19. Leaders must commit one full day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and should email for details. MLive
- ➤ Bay City's NAACP branch will mark Juneteenth with two events. A health fair runs June 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Great Lakes Dream Center; an outdoor concert is set for June 20 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wenonah Park + offers music and family fun. MLive

- ➤ Parkside Mini Golf reopened at the former Dutch Village Adventure Park on May 1 with a modern mini-golf course, renovated ice cream shop, and interactive scoring system (including trivia prompts) at 2525 N. Euclid Ave. Owners Scott and Kellie Staszak plan to add go-karts on Memorial Day. MLive

- ➤ Essexville-Hampton Public Schools are starting construction on a new STEM Innovation Center using a $1 million state grant this month and will place a bond proposal on Aug. 4 to fund the interior and lab technology; the center aims to boost hands-on learning in robotics, engineering, and computer science. - ➤ Bay City Western held its 'A Night in Rio' prom on Saturday, May 9 at Great Hall Banquet and Convention Center where 350 students enjoyed dinner, dancing and mock elections; prom king Luke Arnold and queen Brooklyn Werner were crowned, with six favorite photos highlighted. MLive
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bay City Western girls won the Saginaw Valley League championship with 99.5 points to beat Grand Blanc's 94 at a local meet; Emily Barbeau broke the school record in the 100 meters at 12.64 and won the long jump crown. MLive
- ➤ Bay City Western seniors boosted the Warriors' bid by powering a doubleheader sweep of Bay City Central on Monday, May 11 with wins of 10-0 and 13-2, setting up today's series finale at Western (4 p.m.). MLive
- ➤ MLive.com is hosting a vote to name Michigan’s top senior golfer with ballots due by 11:59 p.m. tomorrow. The poll lists candidates from across the state, including one from Bay City Western + votes must be cast online. MLive
- ➤ On May 11, Pinconning's senior soccer team posted its largest win in 10 years by beating Beaverton (6-1). Coach Adam Harrington said the senior-led performance energized the team (Senior Day celebrations). MLive
