  • State Theatre owner Jordan Dice removed the 300-pound Mayan head after noticing it was rotting and shaking in the wind—art creator Eric E. Larsen confirmed it needs cracks sealed, cleaning, repainting, and a new steel base before it is reattached. The historic piece, which features 1,200 LED bulbs and has stood for 17 years, will be restored and reinstalled this summer.  MLive

  • State Rep. Gina Johnsen introduced House Bill 4362 to create a Silver Alert system — a plan to help find missing seniors and vulnerable adults using the federal Wireless Emergency Alert system when local police file a report.
