EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bay City Public Schools voters approved a $72M bond on May 5 to fund vital upgrades at 14 schools (including safety fixes and modern classrooms). The bond will be repaid over 25 years with no tax change and work will begin this summer. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Whitmer announced a $2.2 million expansion at Arca Cast Inc. that will create 25 jobs in Bay City today. The project is supported by state funds from MSF and MDOT + will upgrade First Street for safer, easier access. WNEM
- ➤ The Coast Guard is searching for three fishermen from Pinconning after an overdue boat left Gambill’s Landing for a fishing trip in Saginaw Bay Tuesday near the area known as the Black Hole - officials ask anyone with details to call the command center. WNEM

- ➤ Bay City's All Saints catcher Jeffrey Hartman is shining this spring with a .627 average in 15 games—earning him the Top Junior title in MLive’s poll. Coach Brian Good says his strong performance has energized the team as they build on a 10 to 5 start. MLive
