- ➤ Tri-Star Trust donated $5,000 to the Youth Leadership Academy at the Bay City Department of Public Safety, supporting programs that give local students hands-on training in public safety careers. - ➤ Garber High School students celebrated their ‘A Night Among the Stars’ prom at the Liberty Harbor Event Center on Saturday, May 2. Nearly 200 students enjoyed dinner, dancing, and a photo backdrop as prom royalty was crowned in a memorable school event. MLive

- ➤ Voters cast ballots yesterday on a vacant state senate seat, local school bond proposals, and millage renewals while local groups held giving campaigns at the Père Marquette Depot (with music and refreshments) and through the Midland Area Community Foundation to back nonprofits. - ➤ On Monday, May 4, Alyson Peterson scored both goals in a 2-0 win for Frankenmuth against Freeland at a district match; recovering from an ACL injury, she also earned a college offer from Davenport University. MLive
- ➤ On May 4, Bay City Western softball earned its first Saginaw Valley League win with an 8-5 victory over Saginaw Heritage, while Pinconning soccer secured a 3-0 shutout; the county sports schedule continues with baseball, softball, soccer, and tennis games in the coming days. MLive
- ➤ Bay City voters can cast votes until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 10 to name the top local underclassman in the spring sports season. The poll covers around 30 candidates competing in baseball, softball, track, soccer, golf, tennis and lacrosse. MLive
- ➤ On Monday, Midland High swept the SVL North Triangular track meets by winning both the boys and girls competitions, outscoring rivals with standout efforts in sprints, relays + field events that set a high bar for the season. MLive
