- ➤ North Peak Brewing and Kilkenny’s Irish Pub will open downtown on July 4 this summer in the former Atrium and Stein Haus, located across from the historic St. Laurent Brothers nut shop — the project will also include three loft apartments above the businesses. MLive
- ➤ Edward St. Laurent returns to Bay City to help manage the family peanut butter and candy business now owned by Jordan Dice. He leads operations at three locations (including a store in Midland Mall and a concession at State Theatre) that serve over 100,000 customers and employ 25 people. MLive
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ascension Health will offer two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection to patients whose information was exposed in a breach affecting Alabama, Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, and Texas — the company will announce further details on April 30 as it reviews safeguards after discovering the incident on December 5th. The breach exposed names, social security numbers and medical records, and officials linked the issue to a software vulnerability in a former partner’s system. MLive
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bay City Rowing Club is set to resume its Learn to Row classes along the Saginaw River as Middleground Island remains open after the Lafayette Bridge closure. The club will begin adult classes on May 8 for $190 and will offer high school sessions starting May 7 and June 5 with practices from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. except on Memorial Day. MLive
