  • Today, the Salvation Army in Bay City prepares and delivers free meals to residents in Montmorency County who lost power after an ice storm. Volunteers drive 260 miles each day as part of an expanded program to help families in need—local officials say the service supports many residents.  Mid Michigan NOW

  • Letisha Randle of Saginaw—founder of PRH Group and several other ventures—has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by CMURC and will be formally recognized during a morning networking breakfast on April 9 at the Mount Pleasant location.   • Standish-based Forward Corp., a family-run convenience store chain, is celebrating 100 years with a series of events across Michigan. The company will begin in April with its Giving Pump initiative—donating part of fuel sales to local schools—and will host monthly customer events and giveaways until September.  MLive

CRIME NEWS

  • Former office manager Lindsay R. Everett was charged with embezzling at least $25,000 after Bay Animal Hospital staff discovered unauthorized transactions following her resignation in September 2022 — she appeared in court on April 3 and is scheduled for a preliminary examination on April 16 while remaining free on personal recognizance bond.  MLive

  • This spring, dog parks in mid-Michigan offer off-leash fun with obstacle courses and water stations for dogs and their owners.
