- ➤ Bay City's DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, a 20-year landmark, was sold at a sheriff's auction on March 28—Wenonah Park Properties defaulted on a $21.8 million mortgage. The hotel now belongs to BCM Hotel LLC for $20 million—its sale will become final in six months with operations remaining unchanged. MLive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A plea offer was extended to star witness Aaron M. Wyse, 47, who said a woman in his backseat shot a passenger on I-75—his testimony helped convict Britany Letourneau of first-degree murder and other charges for an August 2020 killing behind a former Bay County schoolhouse. MLive

- ➤ Dr. David L. Stockman was set to appear in court to explain nearly $150,000 in debts but did not show up—he filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in South Carolina for one of his companies. He faces several default judgments in related lawsuits and is scheduled to appear again on April 7. MLive
