Red Lobster at Wilder Road ended operations on March 22, while Heidi’s Darn Good Cookies shuttered its Bay City spot on Feb. 14 (Value City Furniture in Kochville is closing and Shaq’s Big Chicken and Rocky’s Great Outdoors in Burton also ceased operations). - ➤ Shankar Vedantam, creator and host of NPR's Hidden Brain, will give a free lecture on human behavior and resistance to change at Saginaw Valley State University on April 8. His talk (The Challenge of Change) starts at 6 p.m. in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall, and tickets are required. MLive
- ➤ Members First Credit Union donated $75,000 to support a new nursing lab at Mid Michigan College’s Harrison campus as part of the Rooted in Community, Growing for Tomorrow campaign; the upgrade will boost hands-on clinical training for nursing students. MLive

- ➤ Stepan Shurygin set his personal record with 50 saves as Kitchener edged the Spirit 4+3 in overtime on Tuesday at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw. The Spirit now face an elimination game on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. MLive
- ➤ On March 30, Bay City Western rallied from a three-run deficit to sweep Flushing with 10-0 and 8-3 wins. Coach Tim McDonald credited key defensive plays + clutch hits for driving its unbeaten 4-0 season record. MLive
