- ➤ Local entrepreneur Jordan Dice purchased Saginaw's historic Court Street Theater (a 378-seat movie house built in 1938) before it went to auction after the previous owner died in June and plans to reopen it with a full bar pending liquor licensing. MLive

- ➤ A Saginaw man, Shawn D. Meredith Jr.—33, surrendered to police the day before his arraignment and faces charges of felony murder, armed robbery and firearm offenses in connection with the shooting death of a Bay City father. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ It has been over 100 days since Michigan’s 35th district lost its state Senate seat after Rep. Kristen McDonald-Rivet left for Capitol Hill — leaving 270,000 voters unrepresented. Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt said the governor’s delay in calling a special election reflects political concerns. WNEM
