- ➤ Bay City police are asking for help in finding Shawn Devere Meredith (a person with information) about last Saturday's shooting that killed 28 year old Kane Elliot Crockett at the intersection of 18th Street and South Sherman Street. ABC12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will host the National Civics Bee on April 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center where 20 selected middle school finalists will compete to test their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and civic responsibilities. The top three students will advance to a state-level contest—later joining the national competition with a $100,000 529 college savings prize. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan state utility regulators ruled that residents can use the Ford F-150 Lightning to power their homes during outages—its battery can run critical systems for days. The decision means residents do not need utility permission to use the truck’s home backup feature when power is lost. MLive
- ➤ Bay City Mayor Chris Girard vetoed the resolution declaring the city a welcoming community on March 19—he said his decision was made to protect public safety and financial stability. MLive
