- ➤ Financial Plus Credit Union donated $65,000 to the United Way through a record employee campaign and pledged to match contributions, benefiting families across Genesee - Shiawassee - Saginaw - Bay counties. - ➤ Bay County entrepreneurs now have extra time to apply for the Business by the Bay Pitch Competition as the deadline extends to March 11 at 5 p.m. Eligible businesses under two years with sales under $1M will pitch for a $5,000 prize at John Glenn High School on Sept. 16. MLive

- ➤ SVSU will host the Theodore Roethke Poetry & Arts Festival from March 20 to 25 with free events including a poetry slam, museum tours, a prize ceremony on March 24 and a tribute concert on March 23 (featuring local artists) that honor the renowned poet. MLive
- ➤ Bay City Western High School senior Brooke Case won the State of the State art contest with her piece 'Michigan's Bright Future,' and her work will appear on the cover of the official program book following Gov. Whitmer's announcement on Wednesday. MLive
