- ➤ Pinconning Area Schools Board of Education on Feb. 9 discussed replacing a planned auditorium with a cost-saving hybrid 'cafeterium' (a combined cafeteria and auditorium serving 400 to 500 students) and approved handbook updates to clarify online class policies for attendance and testing requirements. - ➤ The DNR warns snowmobile and off-road vehicle riders to ride safely this Presidents Day weekend by staying sober, riding within their limits, and wearing helmets while on busy trails + yielding to nonmotorized users. ABC12
- ➤ Gov. Whitmer’s proposed plan would create a sales tax holiday on school supplies to help Bay City families save money. Local store owner Jan Jaskiewicz and soon-to-be owner Nicole Hartwick said the plan could ease back-to-school costs if lawmakers approve the proposal. WNEM

- ➤ The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development warn residents today to avoid buying unregistered pesticides that contain dichlorvos after poisonings were reported in the state.
